Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in a variety of positions within the human resources sector. Those who have a sound theoretical knowledge base in human resources management, and can demonstrate a range of managerial skills within the human resources sector are well positioned to succeed in an organisation or business environment. Typically they are people who can handle the responsibility for the work of other staff.

Course Duration/Fees

Full time: Total: 52 weeks (46 study weeks +6 weeks break) (1 year) - 4 Terms
Tuition Fees: 5 x AUD$1,540.00 Total AUD$7,700.00
Application Fees: AUD$ 250.00 (applicable on new enrolments only, once off fee)
Resources Fee: AUD$ 500.00

Entry Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or over
  • Completed Year 12 (or equivalent)
  • International students only must meet:

    • Minimum 5.5 IELTS score & above or equivalent.

    (Those students who do not meet the minimum English requirement will need to package this program with an English Course before proceeding to the Diploma of Human Resource Management ).

All units of competence will be assessed using a selection of tools (Portfolios, Reports, Role-plays, Practical observations, Case studies, Questioning, Simulation activities, and written tests)

Recognition of Prior Learning

An application can be made for RPL when the learner believes that they have already attained the necessary skills and competencies elsewhere (Work, other study etc.). An RPL application form is available from the Learner Administration Services upon request.

The learner will be required to provide documentation to support their application. The application will be processed and an assessment made in accordance with the KCBT RPL and AQF recognition Policy and Procedure

Credit Transfer

Learners, who can demonstrate they already hold any of the Units of Competency specified above, may be eligible to receive a credit transfer for those units. They will need to submit a verified Certificate or Statement of Attainment issued by a RTO for recognition purposes.

Learners who are awarded a credit transfer will be exempted from completing those units at KCBT

Study Pathway and Career Opportunities

Pathways into the qualification:

Preferred pathways for learners enrolling in the Diploma of Human Resources Management include:

  • BSB41015 - Certificate IV in Human Resources or other relevant qualifications
  • Vocational experience in human resources management, but without formal qualifications.

Pathways from this Qualification

Exit Points
  • Most Units of Competency are delivered as standalone sections of the course, allowing enough evidence to be gathered to enable the Assessors to make a competency judgement. The exceptions are BSBPMG522 Undertake project work and BSBLDR402 Lead effective workplace relationships where evidence is gather over the full duration of the course. Should a learner not be able to complete all the Units of Competency required to be awarded this qualification they will be awarded a Statement of Attainment for the individual Units for which they have been assessed as competent.
  • Upon successful completion of the full program.
After achieving the Diploma of Human Resources Management, learners may undertake:
  • BSB61015 - Advanced Diploma of Business
  • Other Advanced Diploma qualifications.

Students may be able to receive exemptions from some subjects based on this qualification.

KCBT policy prevents students under the age of 18 from registering in KCBT courses or programs.
