Qualification Description

BSB50215 Diploma of Business

This qualification would apply to individuals with various job titles including executive officers, program consultants and program coordinators.

Individuals in these roles may possess substantial experience in a range of settings, but seek to further develop their skills across a wide range of business functions.

Conversely, it may also apply to those with little or no vocational experience, but who possess sound theoretical business skills and knowledge that they would like to develop in order to create further educational and employment opportunities.

BSB50615 Diploma of Human Resource Management

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in a variety of roles within the human resources sector who have a sound theoretical knowledge base in human resources management and demonstrate a range of managerial skills to ensure that human resources functions are effectively conducted in an organisation or business area. Typically they would have responsibility for the work of other staff.

Course Duration/Fees

Full time: Total: 44 weeks + 12 weeks of term breaks (56 Weeks) - 4 Terms - Weekdays and "Weekend - Friday and Saturday" classes available
Tuition Fees: 5 x AUD$1,500.00 Total AUD$7,500.00
Application Fees: AUD$ 250.00 (applicable on new enrolments only, once off fee)
Resources Fee: AUD$ 500.00

Entry Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or over
  • Completed Year 12 (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5.5 IELTS score & above or equivalent.

(Those students who do not meet the minimum English requirement will need to package this program with an English Course before proceeding to this qualification).

Assessment

All units of competence will be assessed using a selection of tools (Portfolios, Reports, Role-plays, Practical observations, Case studies, Questioning, Simulation activities, and knowledge-based test)

Recognition of Prior Learning

An application can be made for RPL when the learner believes that they have already attained the necessary skills and competencies elsewhere (Work, other study etc.). An RPL application form is available from the reception upon request or on the college website (http://kcbt.wa.edu.au/students/forms/).

Students will be required to provide documentation to support their application. The application will be processed and an assessment made in accordance with the KCBT RPL and mutual recognition Policy and Procedure.

Credit Transfer

Learners, who can demonstrate they already hold any of the Units of Competency specified above, may be eligible to receive a credit transfer for those units. They will need to submit a verified Certificate or Statement of Attainment issued by a RTO for recognition purposes.

Please complete RPL or Credit Transfer or Exemption Form (http://kcbt.wa.edu.au/students/forms/) and attach detailed documents of your relevant experience / study, completed academic transcripts and official unit description(s) to your application.

For all credit transfer request, student is required to authenticate the information by allowing Keystone College of Business and Technology – RTO Code - 41183 to access the USI transcript online to confirm the validity of the old transcripts. Learners who are awarded a credit transfer will be exempted from completing those units at KCBT

Learners will be issued with two COEs, one for BSB50215 Diploma of Business and another for BSB50615 Diploma of Human Resources Management.

On successful completion of units of competency in BSB50215 Diploma of Business, learners will be granted CT towards BSB50615 Diploma of Human Resources Management at KCBT. Grant of CT will result in a reduction of the amount of training and duration of training for BSB50615 Diploma of Human Resources Management. Student CoE duration for BSB50615 Diploma of Human Resource Management would be reduced to reflect CT grant.

Pathways from this qualification

Exit Points
  • Units of Competency are delivered as standalone sections of the course, allowing enough evidence to be gathered and enable assessors to make a competency judgement. If you cannot complete all the Units of Competency required to be awarded this qualification, you will be awarded a Statement of Attainment for the individual units, for which you were assessed as competent.
  • Upon successful completion of the full qualification.
After achieving the BSB50215 Diploma of Business and BSB50615 Diploma of Human Resource Management, learners may undertake:
  • BSB60215 Advanced Diploma of Business
  • BSB61015 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management
  • Other Advanced Diploma qualifications.

Students may be able to receive credit transfer from some units based on this qualification.

KCBT policy prevents students under the age of 18 from registering in KCBT courses or programs.
